Boeringer-Manneheim cycle sequencing

I have recently purchased a Boeringer-Manneheim cycle sequencing kit to
sequence mini-prep plasmid DNA (something the protocol says is no
problem).  The problem is: it doesn't work.  I've contacted the company
and they suggested performing a NaOH denaturation step before the reaction
--I did this and this too didn't work.  Any commments or suggestions
would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance>
