Ficoll removal from organelle lysates

If you don't need active proteins, you can use Chloroform/Methanol 
precipitation (published by Wessel & Fluegge in Anal. Biochem, a couple 
of years ago). I find that 8 M Urea, 1% SDS, 50 mM Tris-HCl pH 10 is good 
for solubilisation of these precipitates.
