Klenow and Agarose...

Anybody know of any incidences where the klenow action (probe labelling) 
is inhibited by the presence of agarose?
I am trying to make a probe and not having much luck with a gel purified 
product.  I suspect it is caused by the presence of agarose, but I am not 
sure.  Any suggestions?
