Expression vector selection help

Hello there,

I was wondering if people could give me some information
with regards to expression vectors. We would like to express
proteins to a high level and preferably have some sort of
easy purification system, like a HIS tag or other fusion ie malE

Also the host strains that facilitate the expression of recombinant 
proteins.

We are currently using pMal together with XLI blue. Has anyone
had any experience with either of these two. We just can't seem to get
these to work in our hands.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
