genome size/complexity

I want to look at the genome size and complexity of a nematode. I was
thinking of the old standby, a Cot curve, but I wonder if there's any
newer/cleverer ways this is done.

I'm interested in describing:
1) amount of DNA
2) proportion of high-copy DNA
3) GC content

Any sugestions/refs would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
