To the best of my knowledge it is the mutated Taq published in PNAS 92:
6339-6343 by Tabor and Richardson, with the addition of pyrophosphatase.
It can not be substituted for by the regular Taq, because it works with
ddNTP/dnNTP ratio of 1:100, while Taq requires ca. 100:1.
