in situs with oligos?

Hi, I'm new.

We are doing in situ hybridization on sections (paraffin, 35S, emulsion,
etc.).  No problem, I've done them before.  Due to some difficulties
obtaining a positive control probe from another lab, we were thinking of
synthesizing oligos and labelling them for in situs.  Is this possible? 
Has anyone tried it and gotten it to work?
