Internalization of the protein into cultured cells

Dear everyone,

I am studying the effect of recombinant protein on the cultured cells. I'd
like to know whether the protein is internalized or attaches to the membrane
or remains in the culture media. The protein contains 105 amino acids(about
14KD) and is water-soluble. Is there anyone who know the most appropriate
method for this purpose? Any suggestions or references will be appreciated.
