How to gel PEG solutions?

I need to gel a solution containing PEG 8000. I've tried agar and gelatin,
but the high concn of PEG (38%) that I need to use is interfering with the
normal gelling, and I'm left with a very viscous (but not gelled)
concoction. Can anyone on methods net suggest an alternative gelling agent
(nontoxic to plants)? Please reply directly to me. Thanks in advance.
