silver staining/myosin heavy chain separation.

Hi

I am presently trying to separate myosin type 2 and type 1 using gel 
electrophoresis. I stain the gels using a silver stain kit purchased from 
Biorad. I am trying to get some reliability data but it is getting 
difficult when I keep getting negatively stained gels. 
This is despite the fact that I decrease the washing step and decrease 
the concentration of protein. The water I use is ultra pure so I am at a 
loss to know where to go now.
I would be grateful if anybody could give me any help and advice 
regarding the above procedures.
