I haven't noticed much of a difference except that:
1. You only need half as much IpOH as EtOH in the ppt step.
2. IpOH ppt's in the extreme long run are cheaper (or so Qiagen says
so).
3. EtOH doesn't freeze as readily as an IpOH ppt if you're into
-20oC incubations, which I don't do anyway.
4. I've never seen a wash step that uses 70% IpOH.
