reuse of pcr plates?

has anyone out there ever tried reusing 96 well thin-walled pcr plates 
(polycarbonate or polypropylene)?  it would mean a considerable cost 
savings to our lab if we could do this, obviously!  however, i'm 
concerned about the mess this could create and possible cross 
contamination.  if this has been attempted by anyone i'd be interested in 
hearing about your success/failure and how you went about doing it.
