P1 clone DNA preps.

All,
I have had problems preparing decent quantities (for Southerns, sub-cloning
etc) of DNA from P1 human genomic clones. With standard maxi-preps (CsCl
gradient) I get variable results, usually low yield of unstable DNA. It's
been suggested that multiple mini-preps may be better than a maxiprep. Any
and all suggestions would be appreciated. (Please e-mail direct to me and to
the news-group.)
Thanks,
Donald.
