ECL Western troubles

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I think some kind of quenching is
responsible.  Replacing all reagents, even the water, helps.  So does
adding new peroxide to the "stabilized peroxide" in the kit.  Here's a
significant fact: after obtaining a blank ECL film, I put an Enzygraphic
Web on the same blot, and the bands came up fine.  The antibodies worked
fine--just the chemiluminescence failed.  The question is where the
quencher can come from.
