recipe for homemade lipid transfection agent needed

Does anyone have a good recipe for a homemade cationic lipid
transfection reagent?  I posted a similar message and got lots of
response ( thanks! ), but it consisted of recomendations for
commercially avaiible reagents and I am really looking for something we
can make or mix in the lab.  We are currently using several commercial
reagents but the cost is becoming prohibitive.
	Any help would be greatly appreciated
