 Dear Bruce,

Your secretary left a message asking which betaine to order.

$52 will get you 1 kg from Sigma (B-2629). We make it up to 4 M or
5 M for a stock, and use this to replace the water in the cycle-sequencing
recipe. Final 1.3 to 1.5 molar.

This information is on my web page, too.

Sigma might call and ask whether you are going to use the betaine on
people. It might save a day to include a note with your order, stating
that this is strictly for laboratory experiments with no human drug
 application of any kind.
