betaine in LA PCR

Hi all,

Could someone update to what is going on with this betaine and PCR thing.
I didn't realize that this was a big deal as the original betaine papers
were quite old. 

I have been using betaine in PCR rections for about a year now. I had no
idea that there was a patent on such a thing or that you could even 
patent something like that.

Thanks and sorry for being a bit slow about what is going on.
