rules for fusion protein creation

Hi all

Does anyone know of any rules about the number (and type) of amino
acid linkers  needed in fusion proteins between our protein of
interest and GFP. Also Is it going to affect polyadenylation if we
include a stop before the vector stops (all in frame).
