I'll need some help in protocolls for shift assays. In some protocols
for DNA shift assays the is an addition of heparin to the binding reaction.
Does anybody know which effect heparin on the nucleic acid-protein interaction/bindig
will have. Tho only effect I heard is the blocking of (unspecific) ionic binding of the
protein to the nucleic acid. Is this true and if so how will
heparin block ionic interaktions.
Hope somebody could help me. Thanks a lot!
