One caveat to this - if the presence of residual PEG can pose a problem in
downstream processing, use a PEG with an average molecular weight ten
times greater (at least) than the dialysis membrane exclusion limit. Found
out the hard way that PEG 6000/8000 WILL mobilize *into* a 5 kDa cut-off
dialysis bag...grumble, grumble.
