Reamplification pcr products after Ag-staining

Regarding cutting out silver stained bands for re-pcr -

We do this fairly regularly and usually have good success.  I cut the
band out with a razor blade and put the gel slice in 50 ul of sterile
water.  Then I use 2 ul of this for a 50 ul PCR reaction.  We haven't
noticed that the silver staining inhibits the reaction.
