Kit is not necessary, a small tube called SPIN-X is enough. Many
manufacturers provide this kind of tube, what you do is:
 
   1 cut the gel containing your DNA band
   2 Put the gel in the tube
   3 Spin for 2 min
   4 Collect the fluid, add 1/10 vol of sodium acetate(3M, pH5-6)and 2.5
     vol of EtOH, mix well
   5 Store at -70C for 30 min
   6 Spin @ 14,000rpm for 10 min
   7 Wash with 70% EtOH
   8 Dry
   9 Dissovle in appropriate vol of TE or water(eg 10ul)
  10 Further Analysis
