RNA from unfertilized eggs

hi netters,

when i purify total RNA from unfertilized sea urchin eggs, there's some other 
stuff that copurifies and shows up on the EtBr stained formaldehyde/agarose 
gel. However, it runs the other way, towards the cathode. can anyone outhere
tell me how to get rid of this (it seems to interfere with mRNA isolation)? 
LiCl precipitation alone does not help!
