autofluorescence

We are having problems with cells that autofluoresce brightly in the rhodamine 
channel and to a lesser degree in the fluorescein channel. Does anybody have 
any suggestions as to how to quench autofluorescence. I have heard that 
crystal violet and trypan blue are supposed to do this. Does anyone have 
experience with these reagents for this purpose?
