Query: Sealing 96-well (PCR) reactions

Just curious if anyone has any cunning methods for sealing 96-well
microtitre plates used for PCR-type reactions in order to avoid using
either (1) the commercial product sold with the plates for this purpose
(fairly heavy sheet of sticky-backed plastic with pull-off backing) OR (2)
mineral oil.

Ideally, I'm curious if there is something commonly / cheaply available
that does the trick.

(This is for use in a MJR PTC-100 with "HotBonnet" heated lid attachment)

Please email thoughts to Tchipman at is2.dal.ca
