restriciton enzyme site

hi all,
i have a question. the restricion site for sma I is that of
5'cccggg3'
3'gggccc5'
now if you have the sequence
5'gggccc3'
3'cccggg5'
would the enzyme still recognise it and does it matter if its on a linear
or circular DNA.
