Just a little information for you.  Agarose is a whole lot like gelatin
, except it comes from plants - seaweed, I think, rather than bones and
hooves (like Jello does!).  It is used to separate pieces of DNA based
on their sizes.  It is also a little like agar agar which could be
thought of as Jello that comes in bacteria's favorite flavors.
