No, freezing does not help ppt. 2M LiCl will ppt RNA at 4 degrees, but I
have seen the -20 reference and also "on ice" i.e. 0 degrees. Maybe the
time the sample chills to the freezing point in the -20 is enough for
precipitation. Once frozen, pretty much nothing happens.
