Purify large fragment from Agarose gel >10 Kb

I have to purify 30 kb fragments.
I tested phenol extraction, electroelution and several comercial kits.
Quiagen's QuiaEx II (adsorption of nucleic acids to silica-gel particles)
with some modifications worked best for me.
The modifications are: I don't disturb the pellet after centrifuging. Just
incubation in wash solution for 10'. Futhermore I elute with water by
incubating 15' at 60 degrees celsius.
