insect ribosomal RNA - sizes?

Hi How is it going. I have done some work with drosophilia cells
schneider line 2. These cells only contain one rRNA band. This is
because as the 28S rRNA matures there is a cleavage right in the middle
of the RNA making two fragment which are the same size as the 18S rRNA.
It took me a while to figure this out I thought my RNA preps where
degrading. I am not sure this phenomenon appears in all insect cells.
