Parts of a book called "Sequence Analysis Primer" ed. M. Gribskov & J.
Devereux Freeman & Co. N.Y. (1992) are good for pointers. There's also a
lot of stuff on DNA sequence analysis that will not be too relevant. I
have a feeling that there is another (very popular) book that was called
'Of URFs and ORFs' which addressed exactly your problem, but I don't have
the reference. Your library might be able to help with both of these refs.
Lloyd.
