Chemical Mutagenesis

Does anybody know of references for the relative efficiencies of
different chemical mutagens?  I would like to find out how many cells I
would have to mutagenize (with various mutagens) in order to have a high
probability of hitting both alleles of a gene, and whether it is feasible
for me to attempt this or not.
