POSTDOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE in
ARGININE BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
A postdoctoral position is available in a research program based in the
Mental Retardation Research Center and the Departments of Psychiatry,
Pathology and Pediatrics at the UCLA School of Medicine.
Studies will focus on the expression of Arginases I and II (AI and AII)
in various tissues, cells, and cell lines in normal and AI and AII
knockout animals.
The consequences of normal and abnormal arginase expression in vitro
andin vivo will be studied, and efforts will be directed toward
understanding the mechanism of brain damage in hyperargininemia due to
AI deficiency in man and mouse.
A background and interest in Cell Biology and Molecular Biology is
desirable. Salary is appropriate to background and experience, at the
