why a decrease in number of posts?

This is not within the subject matter of the newsgroup, but I was just
wondering why, seemingly, there is not as many number of postings to this
newsgroup as before.  Have some netters moved to another group?  Are most
answers available from within the archive?  Or are people just getting to
be better molecular biologists?
