Ho Bjorn, 

I'd assume that TE will be toxic to the mouse. Tris is not very 
physiological and EDTA will complex calcium ions in body fluids. 
While PBS is " physiological" meaning all compounds will be found in 
the body. And PBS should be quite physiological regarding salt 
concentration. TE is not.
