antisense + gfp construct

I was wondering whether a construct with antisense liked to GFP could be
used to screen for good levels of stable expression (with an inducible
promoter) in eukaryotic cells. I suspect that the antisense may cause the
whole RNA to be targeted for degradation, so that there would be little
GFP protein produced. Has anyone tried, or have any thoughts on this?

Thanks.
