This has been an interesting thread, except for one minor detail... what molarity is the Na-citrate?   Nothing works as well as formamide for RNA
storage but at least one can take an A260 with a citrate buffer!!

Dear Dr. David Haviland,

I checked the Ambion site.
It's "1 mM sodium citrate, pH 6.4 +/- 0.2".
