Update for vectorette PCR and yeast restriction digestion?

Does anyone know of any updated vectorette PCR protocol, originally from
Riley (1990), and efficient restriction digest of yeast DNA in agarose
plugs?  I have been forming my agarose plugs in 0.5 ml PCR tubes.  Also
are there any comments on the advantages of splinkerette PCR over
vectorette PCR using the YAC agarose plugs?
