I encountered a rather strange thing that I can't explain it. We synthesised
single stranded cDNA with oligo-dT primer from mRNA template pool.
Surprisingly we amplified a segment of 18s rRNA product. It is well known
18s rRNA havn't poly-A tail so how could we amplify a clear band?? Is it
possilbe there is genomic DNA contaminatin during RNA extraction? Is it the
only explanation? We use Trizol to extract total RNA from rat.
