Hi Nancy:

I did not see your result from your gel. According to your observation
that there were high molecular weight junk appeared on the gel.

I guess it might be genomic DNA contamination. If it is genomic DNA,
then you should see numerous bands (may be >10 bands) appear on your gel
after restriction enzyme digestion. What you should do are:
-change to use new reagent
-handle your sample more gentle to prevent the sharing of genomic DNA.
