maxipreps from dam- E. coli strains

I would like to have a protocol for isolating large amounts of DNA (maxiprep)
from a dam methylase negative (dam-) E. coli strain.
So far, minipreps give a
reasonable yield, but this DNA is rather 'dirty'. Two attempts of doing a
CsCl isolation of a 500 ml culture resulted in no DNA at all (no visible
band). The second time I included a phenol/chloroform step (which helps to
get better minipreps).

Does anyone have a succesful protocol?
