Can cell lysate containing guanidinium isothiocyanate (GITC) and
ethanol be analyzed by immunoblotting?
Cell or tissue was lysed with buffer containing GITC and
2-mercaptoethanol. Ethanol was then added to precipitate the RNA. I
would like to analysis the protein contents in the supernatant by
immunoblotting for specific antigen. Should the supernatant be
processed to remove GITC and ethanol prior to western blotting?
