Sequencing phage DNA?

     Dear all,
     
     I was trying to sequence a phage DNA clone (lambda FIX II), but 
     signals were too weak to sequence.  It was purifed with QIAGEN lambda 
     purification kit.  I used enough amount of DNA and the it must have 
     been clean enough.
     
     Actually this is my first time to try sequencing a lambda clone.  Am I 
     doing something totally ridiculous by any chance???  Your advice will 
     be greatly appreciated.
