Prenatal sexing?

For prenatal sexing the cheapest and most harmless technique is still fetal
ultrasound. And this is still early enough (unless misfortunately some
parents want to abort one of the sex, mainly the female).
But for prenatal diagnosis of genetic diseases by analysis of fetal cells in
maternal blood, Cheung described a very nice method (Cheung et al., nature
genetics, volume 14, november 1996, page 264-276). Of course with this
approach it would also be possible to determine the sex of the baby.
