Retroviral expression system

Hi,
    Specifically, I would like to establish a retroviral expression system
in my lab. We expecting to use this system to delivery our gene into cells
in vitro and in vivo.  But we are new to this technique. Is there any
suggestion on that? What is the best system currently availible? Is there
any retroviral vector system has LacZ control vector included? Is LacZ
control vector better than AP one?
