zymography

Hi,

I did fibrinogen zymography and loaded plasma samples of treated and control
mice. After activation (48hours) we see in
the control samples  one specific band (that is
probably because of the unfolding by SDS and not complete renaturation using
triton). But in  treated mice we see the same band but a
smear of about 40 kDa towards it!
Can you tell me what this could be and why we don't see that smear in the
control (untreated) samples
