Not sure about the minimum but don't forget an rbs. By the time you have
-35, -10 and the rbs plus say 5 bases to an ATG you must be looking at
40 plus bases. Years ago I'm sure Pharmacia used to sell a promoter
linker. If you can find an old catalogue that may help.
