2-mercaptoethanol and DTT

DTT is reportedly (ref, Calbiochem) a stronger reducing agent.  It's sort
of an interesting story -- Cleland designed DTT so it would form a
six-membered ring when oxidized;  i.e., formation of the ring/oxidized
form is favored.  clever.
