Dear netters
What would be considered a reasonable sensitivity for polyclonals on
Westerns (how many ng/pg should one expect to be able to detect?). We
have a situation where we complemented certain yeast mutant with the
plant homolog but cannot detect the respective protein in total yeast
extract (artifacts like suppressor mutations can be excluded). We can
see as little as 3-5 ng of recombinant protein on Westerns - is that a
reasonable sensitivity? Our Abs are against a C-terminal synthetic
peptide. Thanks
DB
