the 2nd prob I have:

Is there a reagent which I can use for selectively binding of hemoglobin
in a microbial enrichment broth?

for detecting Campylobacter we use Preston broth which contains horse
blood. To get amplificable DNA it we perform up to 4 chloroform steps. I
am thinking about selektively precipitate the hemoglobin or to bind it
before phenol-chloroform extraction.
